What is Vantage Markets? What is eToro ?

Vantage Markets is an online broker that offers forex and CFD trading on various assets, such as indices, commodities, metals, cryptocurrencies and stocks. It was founded in 2009 and is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) and the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) of South Africa. It supports MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, WebTrader, CHARTS by TradingView and mobile apps as trading platforms.

eToro is an online broker that offers forex and CFD trading on various assets, such as indices, commodities, metals, cryptocurrencies, stocks and ETFs. It also offers social trading and copy trading features, where users can follow and copy other traders’ strategies. It was founded in 2007 and is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the UK and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). It supports eToro Platform and eToro Mobile Trader as trading platforms.

Vantage Markets vs eToro Regulation Comparison

Both brokers are regulated by ASIC, which is a reputable regulator that imposes strict rules and standards on its licensed brokers. However, eToro has an additional regulation from the FCA, which provides a higher level of investor protection for UK clients. The FCA requires brokers to segregate client funds, participate in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) that covers up to £85,000 per client in case of broker insolvency, and adhere to fair and transparent business practices. Vantage Markets does not have an FCA license, but it has licenses from CIMA and FSCA, which are less reputable regulators that offer lower or no investor protection.

Vantage Markets does not offer non-CFD stock trading.

However, Vantage Markets has lower spreads than eToro for some currency pairs and indices. For example, the average spread for EUR/USD is 1 pip for Vantage Markets vs 1.3 pips for eToro. Both brokers offer only one type of live account for retail clients. However, Vantage Markets also offers a professional account for eligible clients who meet certain criteria, such as having sufficient trading experience, knowledge and portfolio size. Professional clients can access higher leverage, lower margin requirements and priority customer service. eToro does not offer a professional account, but it has a VIP club for clients who have a minimum equity of $5,000. VIP clients can enjoy benefits such as a dedicated account manager, exclusive webinars and events, and faster withdrawals.

Both brokers offer various analytical tools to help users make informed trading decisions. However, eToro has more research capabilities than Vantage Markets, with superior market research, news feed, trading ideas and social sentiment analysis. eToro also has an economic calendar, market alerts and portfolio analysis tools. Vantage Markets has basic research tools, such as market news, technical analysis, trading signals and an economic calendar. However, it does not have a news feed, trading ideas or social sentiment analysis.
